My wonderful husband came in last night from a tent meeting and made the best chocolate rolls ever. They are just like cinnamon rolls, except with chocolate (very clever, huh?)
Anyways, his grandma makes them for him when he goes to Arkansas. only hers are nothing like cinnamon rolls, they are more like chocolate sticks. She rolls them out into long strips and bakes them.
Since we are all about making things easy around here, we thought of a way to make them without going to all of the trouble of getting the kitchen messy with flour and all. Homemade is fine as long as we're not doing it.
Well, John took pictures because he did do a FANTASTIC job on them. I could eat my weight in them and I'm here to tell ya that's alot! Here's the recipe:
1 can of reduced fat crescent rolls
(notice reduced fat, you got to cut back where you can, not like all the butter is going to help!:)
Butter
1 tsp. Cocoa powder
1/3 Sugar
Glaze:
1 cup of powder sugar
2 tsp. water
Take a piece of wax paper and lightly flour so that you can roll dough out or it will be sticky. Take cresent rolls and press seams together and slightly roll out. Next, cover with a good amount of butter. Mix cocoa powder and sugar together and sprinkle over butter. Now roll the dough into a log, freeze for about 15 minutes. Remove from freezer and slice. Place in baking pan and bake @ 375 for 15 minutes or until done.
Mix glaze and drizzle over warm rolls. Enjoy!
